A wonderful stay at de Bakern. Was there for 7 nights. Thank you for a lovely service. The rooms was so lovely and clean. Beautiful decorated and all worked fine. Location is superb so close to Lagoon and my favourite restaurant the Anchor. An easy walk to downtown or a short drive to the 7dunes for some quad biking or visit the Dunes Mall. A well recomemded place to stay, de Baken.

By far the most comfortable accommodation we experienced during our trip through Namibia. It’s arranged in such a way that you could practically live there. There was even a fireplace with a built-in grill and firewood ready to use, though unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy it. The property is in a great location on the edge of town, so you don’t have to drive through the center to reach major attractions like Pelican Point or Sandwich Harbour. It’s also close to good restaurants, some are even within easy walking distance. You can also walk to the lagoon.

How much does self-catering accommodation at de Baken cost?
Rates start from N$750 per person sharing per night, including VAT. The final price depends on the unit and the number of guests, so check live rates for your dates on our booking page.
How many guests can each unit sleep?
We have 7 self-catering units sleeping 2 or 4 guests, so there is a unit for couples, solo travellers, business guests and families.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00.
Is there secure parking for my vehicle?
Yes. 4 of our units have an enclosed, attached garage and the rest have secure internal parking. Some garages have height limits, so roof carriers may not fit. Check the unit's page or ask us if you are unsure.
What is included in the units?
Every unit has a kitchen with a stove top, microwave, fridge, utensils, cutlery and glassware, plus free fibre WiFi and a TV with Netflix and YouTube.
Can we braai (barbecue) at de Baken?
Yes. Every unit has its own braai (BBQ) area, in a private courtyard or on a deck.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation charges apply on a sliding scale: you forfeit 25% of the deposit at 30 days before arrival, 50% at 21 days, 75% at 14 days and 100% at 7 days before arrival or for a no-show.
